G. Kishan Reddy noted that the launch of the Visit India Year 2023 logo is
taking place in this important year as India is heading G20.
He also informed that
more than one lakh foreign delegates will visit India this year and they will
be showcased the entire gamut of India’s culture, including monuments and
festivals.
Mr. Reddy added that
each foreign delegate of G20 will be a brand ambassador of India’s culture,
heritage, and tourist destinations.
He further stated
that his Ministry is coordinating with Indian missions and other stakeholders
to have a conducive environment for foreign visitors this year.
Harnessing the
momentum created by the recovery of the global industry, preferential sentiment
from global travelers for exploring India, and building upon the success in
growing tourism in India over the years–the Tourism Ministry is on a mission to
unlock the untapped potential of tourism in India, making India a 365-day
destination.

Confederation (AFC) announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) won the
hosting of the 2027 Asian Nations Cup, for the first time in its history, since
its inception in 1956.

Confederation (AFC) announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) won the
hosting of the 2027 Asian Nations Cup, for the first time in its history, since
its inception in 1956. This came during the work of the 33rd Congress of the
Asian Football Confederation (AFC), February 1, in the Bahraini capital,
Manama. Saudi Arabia was the only bid presented at the Congress in Manama after
India’s withdrawal in December 2022.
After the
announcement, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said, “This victory is an
opportunity to create the future of football in the Kingdom and the continent
of Asia, and we look forward with determination to open new horizons for Asian
football.”
The Saudi Arabia 2027
committee concerned with the Saudi file to host the 2027 Asian Nations
Cup revealed the new and developed stadiums that will be worked on to
host the tournament.
Contest between Saudi
Arabia and India:
On October
17, the AFC Executive Committee selected a shortlist of those wishing to
host the continental event held once every four years, which included Saudi
Arabia and India, but the final decision to be made by the General Assembly
postponed it until early February.
The Kingdom obtained
the vote of 43 countries to organize the 2027 Asian Nations Cup out of 45
votes, and Palestine and Turkmenistan abstained from voting.

It is noteworthy that
Qatar will host the next edition of the Asian Football Cup, from June 26 to
July 16, 2023.

partner in their proposed semiconductor chip manufacturing unit in India.

are close to inducting European chipmaker STMicroelectronics as the technology
partner in their proposed semiconductor chip manufacturing unit in India.
Foxconn will be the lead partner in the joint venture (JV) that was announced
last February. The Vedanta-Foxconn consortium is one of the five applicants
seeking government incentives under a $10-billion package announced in December
2021 to promote domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
The Development in
Semiconductor Manufacturing :
So far, in addition
to the Foxconn-Vedanta proposal, the Centre has received five bids to set up
semiconductor fabrication units. These include Next Orbit Ventures, which has
partnered with Israel’s Tower Semiconductor (Tower has been acquired by Intel but
the merger is awaiting regulatory approvals), as well as Singapore-based IGSS
Ventures.
Foxconn’s Bullishness
on India:
Foxconn, which is one
of the largest electronics manufacturing companies in the world, is very
“committed to India” and will invest close to $70-80 billion towards chip
manufacturing.
