Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade

Why is it in news?

Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade was organized at GRTC, Garud Regimental Training Centre (GRTC), Air Force Station Chandinagar  on 3rd Sep, 2022  at the successful completion of the training of Air Force Special Forces 'Garud' Commandos.

Highlights

·        Air Vice Marshal Rakesh Sinha AVSM   Assistant Chief of the Air Staff Operations (Offensive), Air Headquarters was the Chief Guest of the event.

·        The Garuds demonstrated:

§  Combat Firing Skill,

§  Hostage Rescue,

§  Firing Drill,

§  Assault Explosives,

§  Obstacle Crossing Drill,

§  Wall Climbing,

§  Slithering,

§  Rappelling and Military Martial Arts.

It is noteworthy that the Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade is a moment of great pride for the young Garuds as their training is considered to be highly demanding.

·        Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative was conceptualised with the mission to spread awareness about cyber-crime.

·        The mission aims at building capacities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT officials.

·         The mission equips  all government departments, for ensuring adequate safety measures to combat the growing menace of  cyber crimes.
