'Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0' scheme
Why
is it in news?
Recently, the Ministry of Women and Child Development
(MoWCD) issued guidelines for implementing the 'Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan
2.0' scheme. The central government has approved the scheme for implementation
during 2021-22 to 2025-26.
Highlights
• The objective of the scheme is to address the challenges
of malnutrition among pregnant women and lactating mothers, children,
adolescent girls by bringing strategic changes in nutritional content and
distribution.
• Under this program a convergent ecosystem will be created
to develop and promote practices that promote health, wellness and immunity.
• In order to address the deficiencies in the existing nutrition programme, as well as improve implementation and accelerate the improvement in nutrition and child development outcomes, the components of the existing scheme have been restructured.
Poshan
2.0 scheme
The following are the objectives of the POSHAN 2.0 scheme:
• Contribution to human capital development in India.
• Addressing the challenges of malnutrition.
• To promote nutrition awareness and good eating habits to achieve sustainable health.
• Addressing nutritional deficiencies.
The scheme focuses on the norms of maternal nutrition, infant and young child diet.

Why is it in news?
• The Ministry
of Culture organized "Tiranga Utsav" on 2nd August, 2022 to celebrate
the contribution of Pingali Venkayya in the country.
• The Tiranga
Utsav was an evening full of cultural and musical performances.
• On the
occasion of 146th birth anniversary of Pingali Venkaiah, 146th birth
anniversary of Pingali Venkaiah was celebrated in New Delhi.
Highlights
• Union Home Minister Amit Shah was present as the chief guest in the tricolor festival.
• On the occasion, Amit Shah released a commemorative postage stamp to honor Pingali Venkaiah.
• 'Amar Chitra Katha' was also released in his memory.
• In this program Amit Shah also honored the family members of Pingali Venkaiah.
• Tricolor anthem was also released.

The number of recognized start-ups in India crosses 75000
Why is it in news?
The Department
for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has recognized over 75,000
start-ups. This milestone has been achieved at a time when India is celebrating
the 75th year of Independence and the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
Highlights
• Significantly, on 16 January 2016, a program was launched to take forward an action plan for building a strong start-up ecosystem in India.
• January 16 is now celebrated as National Start-up Day.
• 6 years later, those action plans have successfully made India the third largest ecosystem.
• In some 808 days initial 10000 start-ups were recognized. But the latest thousand startups got recognition in just 156 days.
• As per reports, more than 80 start-ups are being recognized every day. This is the highest rate worldwide.
• Out of the total recognized start-ups, 12% are related to IT Services, 9% to Healthcare and Life Sciences, 5% to Professional and Commercial Services, 7% to Education and 5% to Agriculture.
Start-up India Program
• Start-up India program was launched by the government to provide an enabling environment for start-ups.
• The program has become the launchpad for those start-ups.
• Under this program, the government provides funds for tax incentives, supports intellectual property rights to ease public procurement, and enables regulatory reforms to gain access to international festivals and events.
• Thus, the program has become synonymous with sustainable economic development.
