The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra
Modi has congratulated weightlifter, Achinta Sheuli on winning Gold Medal at
Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;
"Delighted that the talented
Achinta Sheuli has won a Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games. He is known for
his calm nature and tenacity. He has worked very hard for this special
achievement. My best wishes to him for his future endeavours."
"Before our contingent left for
the Commonwealth Games, I had interacted with Achinta Sheuli. We had discussed
the support he received from his mother and brother. I also hope he gets time
to watch a film now that a medal has been won."v

VP also inaugurated Seva Samstha bhavan for the New Delhi
regional center of the NGO called RASS (Rashtriya Seva Samithi).

Shri Naidu further stressed that it
is the responsibility of the affluent sections of society to look after the
needs of its economically weaker sections.

should be formulated and implemented for the sake of further development in the
rural India. He also said that the health and overall well-being of the women
and children should be focused upon. Further, considering the well-being of the
entire rural Indian society, VP said that “nothing gives greater satisfaction
and joy than extending a helping hand to those in distress. ‘Share and care’ is
the core value of our civilization.”

The Vice President appreciated the
efforts of RASS among the underprivileged communities in backward regions and
noted their contribution during the peak of the pandemic. Shri Naidu recalled
the efforts of Padma awardee, late Shri Muniratnam Nayudu, the founder of RASS,
and called him "a true Gandhian, in letter and spirit”. He said other
organisations too must supplement the efforts of the governments in eliminating
poverty, illiteracy and fighting various social evils like atrocities against
women and weaker sections.

contingent for their remarkably noticeable performance at Cadet U-17 World
Wrestling Championship in Rome, and
Italy.

14 medals including 7 Golds (of which 5 were won by women athletes) and a Gold
in Greco Roman after 32 years, India's performance at the Cadet (U-17) World
Wrestling Championship has been the best ever. India has also topped the medals
