  • Using NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) along with various other telescopes, two groups of astronomers have identified a temperate, Earth-sized exoplanet named Gliese 12b.
  • About Gliese 12b
    • Characteristics: Gliese 12b is a newly identified temperate, Earth-sized exoplanet orbiting a cool red dwarf star known as Gliese 12, which is situated in the constellation Pisces.

Star Properties: Red dwarf stars have lower luminosity, resulting in their habitable zones being much closer to the star. Gliese 12 is about 27% the size of our Sun and has 60% of its temperature.
