- The government has launched the Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments (ADEETIE) Scheme to accelerate the adoption of advanced, energy-saving technologies across industrial sectors and MSMEs.
- Key Provisions:-
- The Accelerated Deployment for Energy Efficiency in MSMEs through Technology Integration and Empowerment (ADEETIE) scheme, launched by the Ministry of Power, aims to significantly reduce energy consumption in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by 30–50% while improving the power-to-product ratio and supporting green energy corridors.
- Targeting MSMEs registered with Udhyam ID, the scheme mandates at least 10% energy savings through implemented technologies.
- Executed by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) over three years (FY 2025–26 to FY 2027–28) with a ₹1000 crore budget, ADEETIE focuses on 14 energy-intensive sectors such as bricks, ceramics, chemicals, food processing, and fisheries. It will roll out in phases—first across 60 industrial clusters, followed by 100 more. Key components include interest subvention (5% for micro and small, 3% for medium enterprises), technical support, and assistance with energy audits and project reports.
- ADEETIE complements BEE’s broader efforts to reduce India’s energy intensity under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.
