  • Cryptocurrency is a type of digital or virtual currency that operates without a central authority, using cryptography for secure transactions. Popular examples include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and Litecoin.
  • To participate in cryptocurrency transactions, individuals or organizations must first acquire a digital wallet—a software tool that securely stores both public and private keys. These keys are crucial for executing transactions, ensuring secure exchanges, and verifying transactions on the blockchain.
  • In India, cryptocurrency is not specifically prohibited, but it remains unregulated.

  • Article VI of the Outer Space Treaty (1967) holds nations accountable for all space activities conducted by their entities, including private sector actions, though it lacks effective enforcement measures.
  • The Convention on International Liability for Damage Caused by Space Objects (1972) establishes strict liability for any damage caused by space objects on Earth, without the need to prove negligence, but its enforcement remains limited.
  • The United Nations advises that satellites should be deorbited within 25 years, but the compliance rate is only approximately 30%.
