The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in India has established a High Powered Committee (HPC) to address issues related to the protection of Ladakh’s culture, language, land, and employment opportunities.

 

Key Points

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in India has established a High Powered Committee (HPC) to address issues related to the protection of Ladakh’s culture, language, land, and employment opportunities. A 17-member committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai.

 

The committee will be chaired by Shri Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs.

 

In addition to Rai, the committee will include the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Member of Parliament for Ladakh, the Chairmen/Chief Executive Councilors of the LAHDCs of Leh and Kargil, and several other officials from the MHA and the Department of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Affairs.

 

Representatives from both Leh and Kargil have also been invited to participate in the committee. From Leh, the committee will include members of the Apex Body, a group representing the interests of Ladakh’s Buddhist community, as well as representatives of other religious and community organizations. From Kargil, the committee will include members of the Kargil Democratic Alliance, a political group, as well as other community leaders.

 

The establishment of the HPC reflects the Indian government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people of Ladakh and ensuring that the region’s unique culture and way of life are preserved. With its strategic location and importance, Ladakh plays a vital role in the security and stability of the region, and the HPC will work to ensure that the needs of the people of Ladakh are met and that the region is able to contribute to the overall development of the country.

 

Purpose of this Committee:

 

The committee has been formed with the goal of promoting inclusive development and employment generation in the region, as well as empowering the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils (LAHDCs) of Leh and Kargil.

 

Its mandate includes discussing measures to protect Ladakh’s unique culture and language, and to ensure that the region’s land and employment opportunities are protected for the benefit of its people.

Axis Bank has partnered with OPEN to provide a fully native digital current account journey for its customers including SMEs (small and medium enterprises), freelancers, homepreneurs, influencers and more. This has been the bank’s first-ever partnership with a fintech player to launch a fully digital current account. Using this account, customers can avail 250+ banking services and claim up to 50 per cent cashback through grab-deals. With this partnership, all existing Axis bank account holders also get access to OPEN’s all-in-one digital banking platform that is used by over 30 lakh businesses currently.

 

The partnership is aiming to offer access to Axis Bank’s holistic banking services coupled with OPEN’s end-to-end financial automation tools for business management like payments, accounting, payroll, compliance, expense management and several other services to a larger business community.

 

Significance of This Move:

This digital current account product claims to help customers to save a significant amount of time and effort, as the authentication process will be completely digital using PAN and Aadhaar followed by a video KYC.

 

According to a company statement, the contactless account opening process that takes away the hassle of paperwork with a zero document upload feature makes this product significantly different from others in the market.

 

Additionally, it has stated that through this account, customers can avail of more than 250 banking services and claim up to 50 percent cashback through grab-deals.

The partnership will benefit all existing Axis bank account holders and also get access to OPEN’s all-in-one digital banking platform.

Zerodha-backed GoldenPi Technologies has become the first online bond platform provider to receive a debt brokerage license from market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi).

Zerodha-backed GoldenPi Technologies has become the first online bond platform provider to receive a debt brokerage license from market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). The Bengaluru-based fintech firm expects this development to spur greater trust in online bonds and debentures investment space. 

The regulator introduced regulations for online debt trading platforms which stated that no company or individual shall act as an online bond platform provider without the certificate of registration as a stock broker under the SEBI Regulations, 2021.

 

The awarding of the license by Sebi to GoldenPi is expected to work as a catalyst for greater investor trust in the online bonds and debentures investment space, the company said in a release.

Incorporated in 2017, the Zerodha-backed company currently offers more than 100+ bonds and debentures on its online platform in the form of daily listings.

Jalna district police and Nagpur city police in Maharashtra have been awarded the Best Police Unit Awards for 2021 in the state under different classes for maintaining law and order, use of modern technology, and evolving community policing and administration. The Jalna Police got the award in Class A and the Nagpur Police in Class B. The winners were announced by Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Kulwant Sarangal.

 

 

• Police units with less than 6,100 Indian Penal Code Cases are grouped in Class A.

• In Class B, there are more than 6,100 Indian Penal Code Cases.

• In Class A, Raigarh district police got the second-best police unit award.

• The Sindhudurg district police won for the best unit for conviction in session trial cases.

• Beed district police was awarded for the best unit in techno for policing.

• Gadchiroli Police was awarded for the best unit in community policing initiatives.

• The police units were evaluated based on their performance on 45 pre-selected parameters.

• Jalna Police force comes under the Aurangabad range.

• The Aurangabad rural police from the same range won the best police unit award for 2020 in Class A.

• The headquarters of the State Police announced Best Police Unit Awards 2021 to Nagpur Police Commissionerate.

• The award was instituted by the State Police to encourage good practice in policing.

• The 49 police units of Maharashtra have been divided into classes A, B, and C.

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the three-day ‘North East Krishi Kumbhar-2023’ and took part in the 49th Foundation Day celebration of the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam. The Minister inaugurated the administrative cum academic block office and Girl’s Hostel of the College of Agriculture at Kyrdemkulai, Ri Bhoi district.

 

The Union Minister noted that the Northeast is the heaven of India and Meghalaya’s geographical scenario can be developed further with more efforts.

He also noted that the farmers and farming should always be treated with honor.

A farmer not only supports his family but also contributes to the agricultural economy of the country.

 

The Government’s priority has always been to ensure the prosperity of farmers and the development of agriculture.

 

India is now not only a food-producing nation but also an export.

 

Live demonstrations and exhibitions of recent technologies through 102 stalls by the host Institute and its regional centers were the highlights of the North East Krishi Kumbha 2023.

A contingent of 26 persons comprising farmers adopted by ICAR local entrepreneurs, members of the Agri-business Incubation Centre, and representatives of farmers’ producer organization from various districts of the stage bound for ‘North East Krishi Kumbha 2023 was flagged off.

 

The team will participate and showcase different types of indigenous Agri products like Chakhao, Kachai Lemon, Tamenglong Orange, Sirarakhong, Chilli, King Chilli, and processed products including value-added products. The North East Krishi Kumbha 2023 was held at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya from 4th January to 6th January 2023.
