“Our weightlifting contingent has performed exceptionally well at the Birmingham CWG. Continuing this, Harjinder Kaur wins a Bronze medal. Congratulations to her for this special accomplishment. Best wishes to her for her future endeavours.”

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has lauded the outstanding accomplishment of 6 billion UPI transactions in July, highest ever since 2016. 

Highlights

In a response to a tweet by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Prime Minister said;

“This is an outstanding accomplishment. It indicates the collective resolve of the people of India to embrace new technologies and make the economy cleaner. Digital payments were particularly helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a system that powers multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application (of any participating bank), merging several banking features, seamless fund routing & merchant payments into one hood.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has urged all citizens to change their social media DPs to Tricolour as a collective movement to celebrate Har Ghar Tiranga.

The Prime Minister tweeted;

“It is a special 2nd August today! At a time when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is all set for #HarGharTiranga , a collective movement to celebrate our Tricolour. I have changed the DP on my social media pages and urge you all to do the same.”

43,050 LLPs registered during FY 2020-21 as compared to 42,187 in the previous year

Highlights

Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) and Companies are incorporated under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs as per the provisions of LLP Act, 2008 and Companies Act, 2013. This was stated by Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Shri Rao Inderjit Singh in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

Giving more details, the Minister stated that during FY 2021-22, 1,67,080 companies were registered as compared to 1,55,377 in the previous year. Further, during FY 2020-21, 43,050 LLPs were registered as compared to 42,187 in previous year.

On National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), the Minister stated that the Company Law Committee constituted by the Ministry  of  Corporate Affairs in its report of March, 2022 (Chapter 1 Para 11) has inter-alia, recommended that NFRA be empowered to take appropriate action against other contraventions under NFRA Rules, 2018, in addition to its existing powers to take action against ‘professional or other misconduct’. The report is available on the website of Ministry of Corporate Affairs (www.mca.gov.in), the Minister stated.

Atal Innovation Mission commences Call for Application for setting up Incubation Centres.

·        Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog today launched Call for Applications for its two leading programs Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) and Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC). 

·        The call for applications is a step to expand the current ecosystem of incubators and to provide them with access to global benchmarks and best practices.  

·        Both the programs envision to create and support the innovation ecosystem in the country by establishing world-class institutions which shall help budding entrepreneurs of the country.
