Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated the Palm leaf Manuscript Museum with modern audio-visual technology at the renovated Central Archives, Fort area in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Kerala Chief Minister(CM) Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated the Palm leaf Manuscript Museum with modern audio-visual technology at the renovated Central Archives, Fort area in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The Museum, promoted as “World’s First Palm-Leaf Manuscript Museum” was set up by the Archives Department in association with the Kerala Museum of History and Heritage at a cost of Rs 3 crore.

 

The museum is a repository of curious nuggets of administrative, socio-cultural and economic facets of the Travancore kingdom which lasted for 650 years till the end of the 19th century. It had been the Central Vernacular Records Office since 1887 before becoming a museum.

 

The museum is a useful resource for historical and cultural studies for both academic and non-academic researchers. The museum has 8 theme-based galleries in the museum representing segments like, “History of Writing,” “Land and People,” “Administration,” “War and Peace,” “Education and Health,” “Economy,” “Art and Culture,” and “Mathilakam Records.”

 

The museum stores 187 manuscripts at Central Archives and the department’s regional officers in Ernakulam and Kozhikode. The manuscripts span 6 centuries From 1249 CE to 1896. It will be housed in the 6,000-sq ft museum which was arranged by the Kerala government’s nodal agency for museums Keralam–Museum of History and Heritage. The Museum houses manuscripts in ancient scripts such as Vattezhuthu, Kolezhuthu, Malayanma, and ancient Tamil and Malayalam. The 1st phase’s archival material was selected after sorting through a stock of carelessly stored 1.5 crore palm-leaf records from all across Kerala.

A Medical book ‘Human Anatomy’ in Hindi Manav sharir Rachna Vigyan was released by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mangubhai Patel at the function which is a very useful book for the Medical students of all courses related to medical education written by Dr AK Dwivedi. Dr AK Dwivedi is Homeopathic Doctor of Indore Professor & HOD Physiology SKRP Gujarati Homeopathic Medical College Indore and member of Scientific Advisory Board in the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy, Ministry of AYUSH (Govt. of India).

 

The Foreword (Preface) of this book has been written by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Minister of Higher Education in Madhya Pradesh Government and President of Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Bhopal. Introduction of the book is written by Shri Ashok Kadel Director Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Bhopal. Other co-writers of the Book are Dr Vaibhav Chaturvedi & Dr Kanak Dwivedi (Chaturvedi). As per Writer Dr Ashvini Kumar Dwivedi There are  12 chapters such as Introduction to Human Body, Bone & Joints, Muscles & tissues, Nervous System, Endocrine System Circulatory System Lymphatic System Respiratory System Gastrointestinal Excretory & reproductive System are  included in this book.

Assam Govt announces recipients of Asom Bhaibav, Asom Sourav and Asom Gourav awards for 2022-23. These awards are the highest civilian awards of Assam state.

 

 

Key Points

 

 

The recipients of the state’s top civil honours for 2022–2023 were revealed by the Assam government on Tuesday (January 4). The Assam government presented awards in the Asom Baibhav, Asom Sourav, and Asom Gourav categories. The chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, revealed the beneficiaries of the civil awards that will be given out by the state.

 

 

Highest civilian awards of Assam for 2022-23: Asom Bhaibav Award

Dr. Tapan Saikia will receive the Asom Baibhav, the highest civilian honour that the Assam government can bestow.

 

In the Assamese area of Dibrugarh, Dr. Tapan Saikia is originally from Naharkatia. One of the supporters of the Deesikha Foundation is Dr. Saikia.

 

The Asom Baibhav award will be given to Dr. Tapan Saikia in recognition of his efforts to raise cancer awareness and encourage early detection in Assam and other Northeastern regions.

At the Prince Aly Khan Hospital in Mumbai, Dr. Tapan Saikia is currently the director of research and chief of medical oncology.

 

The Asom Baibav award winner will earn a monetary prize of Rs. 5 lakhs and will be eligible to receive government-funded medical care for the rest of their lives.

Highest civilian awards of Assam for 2022-23: Asom Sourav Award

The Asom Sourav award, in contrast, includes a payout of Rs 4 lakhs and entitles the recipients to up to Rs 3 lakhs in annual government-funded medical care.

Four individuals have been chosen to receive the Asom Sourav prize for 2022–2023.

They are Dr. Sashidhar Phukan, Krishna Roy, Gilbert Sangma, and Dr. Binoy Kumar Saikia.

 

Highest civilian awards of Assam for 2022-23: Asom Gourav Award

The Asom Gourav award comes with a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakhs, and the winner is eligible to receive medical care of up to Rs. 3 lakhs annually.

13 individuals in total have been chosen to receive the Asom Gourav prize in 2022-2023.

They are Drs. Debajit Barman, Manje La, Rustom Basumatary, Binanda Hatibaruah, Atul Ch Baruah, Shila Gowala, Drs. Jogesh Deuri, Pankaj Lal Gogoi, Sarbeswar Basumatary Manthang Hmar, Dayal Goswami, Dr. Syed Ifthikar Ahmed, and Dhrubajyoti Sharma.
